Voted Performance Car of the Year by Motor Magazine in 2003, the Astra SRi
Turbo is a formidable performance package. Whiteline liked it so much they
added one to the R & D fleet.
Sporting a torquey 2.0 litre turbo engine with lots of power upgrade
potential the SRi has a nicely balanced chassis with European style
dynamics. But as every car is made to a compromise there was lots of room
for improvement. Stage 1 of the development work saw a full package
developed including swaybars, Sports Pack spring and shock set and a
number of critical alignment aids.
Stage 1 was tested by Fast 4's magazine in May 2004 and they were
sufficiently impressed to do a story on this very tasty package. Stage 2
development includes coil-over kits and a number or unique chassis
