P-REX
I The following is a summary of the components used in for the latest stage of development reflecting a change to the drive strain. Specifically, the differentials are now back to standard which required a change to the roll control bias. This is the same package used in the recent Trading Post Rally with all products being standard "off-the-shelf" items readily available.
The KSUB02SX Sports Pack uses conventional strut configuration springs and shocks, not height adjustable coil-overs. We wanted to prove that expense did not always equal performance and that correct tunning is more important than hype and looks. Though ride height is not adjustable, shock rebound rate is. This allows the driver to adjust both swaybars and shock rates for weekend track work then back again for mid week commuting. The package is designed to work as a package with specially modified externally adjustable shocks delivering an extra 20mm of bump travel at a "Superlow" ride height of 335mm front and rear. The springs use a much higher rate than standard but well below most import "sports" product and very comfortable for road use. As these items are highly modified, they are not available separately as they need to work as a package to deliver the goods. Many of the items used on P-Rex 1 will also suit North American spec Impreza. This also applies to Europe and Asia where Impreza, WRX and STi's are sold in various forms. We will endeavour to produce specific fact sheets for each market but please feel free to contact Whiteline with any questions in the meantime re suitability for your car. P-Rex is by no means a standard WRX. It has many engine and drive train modifications but all are typical improvements done by many WRX owners in pursuit of more power and driveability. These mods include:
As with most things, the real value is in the finer detail. As far as the engine and drive train mods are concerned we can't comment as we simply haven't been involved in the process. However, there are a lot of small things in the suspension and chassis tuning area where the detail is critical. This includes alignment settings, tyre pressures and shock and swaybar settings. All these details WILL be published as part of the final package to help people understand how to get the best from their car and optimise performance for their specific vehicle spec and driving style. |
