Skyline R33 GTS-TP-REX
I Skylines are becoming an increasingly popular performance choice. A true GT coupe with loads of power and potential make them a formidable track weapon not to mention a darn nice road car. Though they represent excellent value for money they do have their problems. Excessive lowering is one of the biggest problem due to the rear end configuration. HICAS rear steer works to help promote more neutral behaviour on the street but can be a liability on the track. For example, our testing has shown up to 0.75 second improvement in lap times with out HICAS activated. Whiteline's R33 GTS-T project car was used to develop a complete range of suspension products to satisfy road and club motorsport requirements while overcoming these problem. In the spirit of all our other project vehicles, a package was developed with many options allowing a variety of solutions to cater for any handling outcome. Items include all the usual springs, swaybars and alignment products along with many shock options like the Whiteline Premium coil over adjustables, part #1K4027. Click here to read more about the range. We recently participated in a R33 comparison and film shoot at Oran Park where our project car delivered the fastest lap time by nearly 2 seconds! It also delivered the fastest 0-100kmh time in spite of being the lowest powered car on the day as evidenced by later dyno testing. The point proved was that setup and tuning were more effective than outright horsepower. This was shown up on the dyno test day with our test car producing only 160kw at the wheels, or 55kw less than the highest power car.
